About

A lecture performance by artist Liz Orton that considers the imaged body as an algorithmic space in medicine. It explores medical imaging technologies, using human and computer vision to see the body as a new kind of archive.

It is based on Orton’s personal experience of looking at her mum’s 3D medical images, a journey into the body that seems to transgress ethical, physical and emotional boundaries.

Comprising moving image, audio and text, Every Body is an Archive goes to the inside of the inside, a hidden world of shifting cosmic fantasies. We move through surfaces, and become lost in anatomical mazes.

Part of Performance Lab: eleven experiments in science and the arts at UCL.
