Performance as Process

To coincide with the IBT15 Bristol International Festival, Delfina Foundation in collaboration with Spike Island and Live Art Development Agency, hosts an event examining current trends in performance art.

The event is divided into two main parts, a workshop in the afternoon for Spike Associates and Delfina Foundation's resident artists, followed by a panel discussion which is open to the public. 

Panel Discussion: The politics of the visible and the invisible

Cultural institutions are highly visible support structures with a focus on art objects but less so on the creative processes that lead to their existence. In contrast, the more invisible residencies programmes are platforms that facilitate the process of artistic creation, therefore becoming invaluable spaces for experimentation.

Alvaro Ugarte, artist

This panel discussion will be chaired by Gabriela Salgado, Associate curator for Delfina Foundation's Performance as Process season. Participants of the earlier workshop are invited to collaborate inBona Park and Alvaro Ugarte's unique performance shown periodically throughout the panel discussion.
