About
6 pm- "An acti-talk of circlusions, mutations, psychogeography & adaptive strategies" - Lecture Performance by Kym Ward.Kym Ward (*1982, UK) moves between more solitary performance research practice and organising and enabling alternative or non-hierarchical educations. Her interests lie in productive critique: of softwares’ production of social relation, of technologies of organisation and, when possible, the cheeky reappropriation of institutitional structure. Most recently working with École de Recherche Graphique (ERG) in Brussels, she works with an intersectional feminist reading group – Knowledge is a Does (KIAD). She makes video essays (Weaving & The Algorithm, 2016), spells for adults (Air/Fire, 2017) and shorts for kids (Swellshark, 2017). She has co-organised alternative edu-moments such as RELEARN, summer school in Brussels and Barcelona, and video production with We Are Here, refugee support network, Amsterdam.

The exhibition project 'Perfect Match' examines the Schau Fenster and its surrounded area in the context of the ubiquitous chain of causality that mutates inner-city locations from interim use to gentrification motors to gentrification victims. In doing so, the space is also being explored in terms of its architectural features, as an interim state between the past and the future, remaining building elements and partial renovation.
The artists in the exhibition exclusively show site-specific works that comment on and expand the site and its context, making it visible in its formal and social facets.
