This exhibition explores the dialogue between people and places whilst attempting to question where people exist. Both artists always begin their work by drawing from real life, either people or places as each is inspired by the capturing of what already exists.

About

There is a strong contrast between the two artists as Andy Breen creates beautiful paintings which challenge the viewer to look afresh at the body and what it means to be human.  The abstract landscapes created by Caroline Evans challenge the viewer to consider places where they may have visited, and seek memories of such places. The absence of figures in Caroline’s work only enhances the idea that human beings have visited or connected with such places in the past.  Andy’s figures and portraits capture the person in moments of time: they are real and exist.

Andy Breen is a scientist working in the field of artificial intelligence and human communication, he is fascinated by how we communicate and how art communicates.  Andy has spent a life time drawing his favourite subject: people.

Caroline Evans is a former educationalist, who seeks to find the unusual and respond to it in an expansively dynamic way.  Caroline completed an MA in Fine Art at NUA in 2016 where her subject was the Romantic Sublime.
