Patterns of Movement
In collaboration with Onome Otite
-
Onome’s work explores the shapes, colours and movement within the circus, capturing the form and poise found in contemporary choreography.
About
Inspired by the energy and dynamism of performance, Onome’s hand drawn figures are decorated with textiles and recycled materials that have been malipulated by hand. The work focuses on the relationship between the performer and their costume, illustrating the patterns of movement they create together.
Onome Otite is an artist, living and working in London. She received a BA Hons Degree in Film and Video from London College of Communication and has participated in group and solo shows across Europe and Canada. Onome has won several awards and residencies, including the 2016 – 2018 Cockpit Art’s Prince’s Trust Creative Careers Award.
16th August, Onome will be holding a Late Opening at 6-8pm for the public. This will include an introduction of her new large-scale collages - for more information please email Eloise: emaltbymaland@circuslondon.com
