An exhibition of glassworks by Patrick Stern

About

The Christmas Exhibition & Sale by artist Patrick Stern. An exciting opportunity to see or acquire examples of objects made over twenty five years of working with glass, exploring a wide variety of techniques. These have included blowing, engraving, kiln casting and pate de verre, lamp-working and assemblage, to produce objects ranging from figurative sculptural pieces to intricately patterned glass beads, with many vessels

This exhibition will preview a new body of work exploring aspects of the artist's identity as delineated by his given names.

Patrick Stern has exhibited his work in the UK, Europe and Japan. He also had pieces displayed in the collections of the Broadfield House Glass Museum, the V&A, Dan Klein & Alan J. Poole (Private Collection) in London. Two pieces were included in the British Glass Biennale 2004 as well as three further pieces for the British Glass Biennale 2006.

A commission was completed in 2000 for the cruise liner 'Explorer of the Seas', for art work for alcoves on four stairwell landings. Stern also was commissioned in 2002 by Kings Avenue Primary School, Lambeth to create twenty textured blocks for inclusion into the walls of the building at a child's eye level height, as visual/tactile landmarks, as the school caters for the partially sighted.
