A group show of analogue collage by 23 artists
About
What links movie Dressed to Kill? Punk Rock royalty Gaye Advert, complete unknowns emerging and established artists? Paste Table Gallery, a peripatetic Micro Gallery of analogue collage. The gallery is a 6 ft. decorators pasting table with pegboard walls mimicking a mini white cube.
PTG only concerns itself with the exhibition of analogue works, seeing the artists hand in the making, the signs of cutting and sticking or layering is always evident not matter how skillful the practitioner. A natural topography shows, but also a socio- political topography is also revealed. The process is democratic, the means of production are readily available. Oil paint brushes and canvas can be expensive, old magazines, a pair of scissors and a glue stick, not.
