About

Past Reflections at The Crocus Gallery Nottingham is the frst solo exhibition by Halkawt Tahir since graduating from Nottingham Trent University last summer. The Exhibition is based on the Kurdish exile many faced by the Iraq goverment and the troubling situations surrounding it. Tahir aims to confront and remind viewers by imposing this memories on the audience. In this exhibition Tahir has made sculptures, 3D installtion, paintings and drawings that attempt to describe his own pain and anguish of the events he experienced. Tahir states "All my work is to show my journey through life, of past troubles, and a journey to a better life." The communication of his personal feelings is in order to make audiences and different cultures, both aware and informed of the Kurdish herritage.
