Parlour Arboretum shall explore the idea of the woods as a pocket of the uncanny; a space of folklore and mythology where the ordered, everyday world gives way to the hidden and mysterious realm of the imagination, difficult to enter, and even more difficult to leave. From the sacred groves of ancient Greece to the enchanted forests of fairytale, woods and trees have always taken on the role of mechanism for human experience of the unconscious; a bridge between the rational and the unknown.
