Computer animated video and sound installation by the Finnish duo Pink Twins, curated by Vassiliki Tzanakou, at the evocative Chapel of the House of St Barnabas, Soho.

About

ARTinTRA is proud to present PARAMENTRONOMICON: a fascinating, site-specific, computer animated video and sound installation by the Finnish duo Pink Twins, curated by Vassiliki Tzanakou.

In the evocative Chapel of the House of St Barnabas the constructed forms of PARAMETRONOMICON, both organic and mechanical, are like cybernetic organisms in a process of perpetual adaptation ruled by multiple, continuously changing set of parameters. These forms lead to a chaotic parametrisation where no single truth exists.

Based upon Epistemological theories, PARAMETRONOMICON, resembles a science fiction film which aims to stimulate an immersive visual and psychological experience of perception, cognition and imagination, engaging the public in a diverse dialogue which challenges axioms and belief systems.

The Finnish duo Pink Twins (Juha and Vesa Vehvilainen) with their abstractive video and maximalist sound installations are creating unique synaesthetic experiences that traverse the the dimensions of space and time. Thei digitally developed imagery, comprised of abstractive forms and usually bright colours is in perennial motion. The compositions of particles are turning into forms whish are in a continuous process of deconstruction and reconstruction creating chaotic spaces that challenge the human perception.

Pink Twins selected exhibitions include: Moving Image Festival, NYC (2015); Out Of Our Heads Project, Shoreditch Town Hall, London (2014); Matters of Time, Frankfurter Kustverein, Frankfurt (2014); CentroCentro, Madrid (2012); Thank You For the Music, Kiasma Museum, Helsinki (2012); Repeat All, Centro Cultural Chacao, Caracas (2010); Artic Hysteria, P.S.I. MoMA, Queens, NYC (2008).

The House of St. Barnabas is a charity, founded in 1846, committed to the support of those affected by homelessness and social exclusion. The current strategy for the implementation of this vision is comprised of a not-for-profit Private Members Club, an integrated Employment Academy and Social Business which places people back into sustained work.

ARTinTRA is a London based fine arts consultancy and curatorial team with international presence specialising in the curation & production of imaginative and sophisticated art projects in private, public and digital spaces.
