Paper and print features the wonderful work of Emma Malfroy, Laura Chaplin and Karen Jinks. Each artist makes use of layering colour, texture and materials to build up imagery and interest.
About
About the artists:
Laura Chaplin is a fine art printmaker with a background in fashion and textile design. Her painterly screen prints build impressionistic layers to her images. Laura’s ‘Terns’ work featured at H A G are beautifully evocative of watching clouds of birds in flight, while her buttercups (finished with real gold leaf) elevate and treasure something fleeting that could otherwise be overlooked. Laura lives and works in Cambridge.
Emma Malfroy is an artist working in collage, paint and print. Often creating her own collage papers, her images of local landscapes and the natural world are teaming with texture. The wonderfully observed, characterful swans on show at H A G could have been plucked straight from the nearby river Ouse, and we can imagine her landscape of Wicken Fen rustling in a breeze. Emma lives and works in Cambridge.
Karen Jinks is a professional artist, designer and illustrator. The sensitive collaged compositions included in this show are from her ‘lockdown diary’ series. Karen lives and works in Cambridge.
All featured work is for sale. 10% of all sales is donated to local mental health and wellbeing charity Arts and Minds.
