AboutYevgeniya Baras and Zachary Wollard, as well as the show's curator Kara Rooney and the poet Anselm Berrigan, will talk about the artist' work, their influences, and the narratives imbedded in abstraction. About the artists: Yevgeniya Baras is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Yevgeniya has a BA and MS from the University of Pennsylvania (2003) and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2007). Yevgeniya’s work has been exhibited at numerous galleries in New York including: Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, Kinz + Tillou Fine Art, Zurcher Studio, Asya Geisberg Gallery, Allegra LaViola Gallery. After a brief stint working as a guard at the Metropolitan Museum, he began making paintings and drawings. After attending the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, he began showing his work publicly. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum.
