Panayiotis Delilabros
About
Athens-born Londoner Panos Delilabros brings his emotive and seductive video art to Really London's second event. Appropriating and reworking the found, his work unpicks the notion of the familiar with visually stunning results that negotiate the thin line between melancholy and bathos.Using stock and original images Delilabros has created fresh and subversive dreamscapes, heavily inspired by the poetry of music and the notion of the cliché. Celebrity and fame are interwoven with a personal exploration of identity that is in fact universally recognisable: while in technique and aesthetic these works are entirely contemporary, their subject is timeless.
Recent shows by this artist include 'Fame Fame Fatal Fame' at Sketch, 'From Outside' in churches across the City of London, other venues include Madame Lillies, Islington Arts Factory, and B-store in Saville Row.
Curator: Laura Cherry
