Palimpsest

A collection of figurative and abstract prints in mixed media including porcelain, plaster and metal combined with pieces comprising audio, moving and photographic images. Palimpsest is the result of collaboration by three female artists working in Preston. Their creative work is drawn together by the common subject of motherhood and womanhood — a reflection and visual comment on the experiences of everyday discoveries as women and a changing personal world. Each artist is focused and unique in their pursuit to respond creatively to a developing relationship between mothers and their children; to the human condition of motherhood.
