House of Questions is a week long event of FREE workshops, food, talks, art, performance, conversations and open source data. This event is a space for all ages to come together and enjoy learning in dynamic, unexpected and exciting ways.

About

We would like to invite you to ‘House of Questions’ #hoq as part of Newlyn Art Gallery’s ‘Palace of Culture’ connecting 15-25 year olds to the arts.

Keiken Collective have been appointed Cultural Secretary for week 2 of Palace of Culture.

Inspired by Eastern European clubhouses for workers, the gallery will be transformed into an establishment of recreational activity. Hosted by a different Cultural Secretary each week, The Palace of Culture will nourish both body and mind with workshops, performance and other stimulating pursuits designed to fight cultureless leisure. Weeks one and two of Palace of Culture have been commissioned by Tate St Ives as part of their Circuit programme for young people.

House of Questions is a week long event of FREE workshops, food, talks, art, performance, conversations and open source data.  We believe in the flow and inclusivity of knowledge. This event is a space for all ages to come together and enjoy learning in dynamic, unexpected and exciting ways; how can we see the world differently in our ‘networks of networks’?

Saturday 25th promises a ‘Taste in the Stars with maybe and 4 suits’, a surreal day of artists talks, workshops, ceremonies and a Dinner in the Dark to kick start the week.Monday 27th is host to our ‘Digital Day’ where art meets science and technology.Tuesday 28th inspires ‘Health: Balance between Mind and Body’. Wednesday 29th is focused on the ‘Monstrous’ with workshops from Falmouth University’s MA Authorial Illustration. Thursday 30th has a focus on intrinsic systems exploring, ‘Bee Code’, more alike than we think. Friday 31st, ‘Play: What does play sound like?’, concludes the week with creative workshops and a performative dinner party finale.

As well as live events there will be different screenings each day as a form of free information. Come and see and listen for coding to tongue-in-cheek futures to dream therapy.
