P Gerard Barker at West Contemporary at Kerridges Bar & Grill at The Corinthia Hotel

About

As London plays host to PhotoLondon, the new go-to London hot spot - West Contemporary at Kerridges Bar and Grill  ( the restaurant owned by double Michelin star chef - Tom Kerridge)  hosts the works of British photographer  P Gerard Barker amongst others.

He belongs to the currently topical sector of photographers employing old-school cameras, smartphones and apps to create stunning images and has an incredible eye for composition and atmosphere, with all of his works encouraging the viewer to look just a little longer. His inspiration comes from cityscapes and trips abroad to the everyday visuals you might see or walk past such as a motorbike in the street or a washing machine in a launderette.

The works the photographer has on display at the The West Contemporary art space are inspired by a day spent with Tom and his team in his first restaurant (The Hand and Flowers) in Marlow, The Shed and The Butcher’s Tap and taking shots both in the kitchen and the surrounding areas in the quaint town of  Marlow.

P Gerard Barker is represented by the Art Consultancy, West Contemporary.  Based in London and Dubai, West Contemporary works with an eclectic mix of artists including sculptors, painters, mixed media artists light art and photographers. West Contemporary was founded by Liam West FRSA, a leading founder of Goldsmiths CCA and who has worked in the art world for 20 years.

In partnership with Tom Kerridge, West Contemporary have introduced a dynamic new art space into the heart of Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at The Corinthia Hotel in London. Their plan is to make art more accessible.

The emphasis has been firmly placed on The Best of British and the fusion of food and art being created in the nation’s capital. The duo are pioneering the movement of #GastroArt and a new way of showing contemporary British art but in a non-gallery environment, moving it into a new arena. West Contemporary
