About

We are thrilled to invite you to the Outdoor Photographer of the Year 2011 awards ceremony and exhibition, hosted by theprintspace! Since its launch in 2000, Outdoor Photography magazine has led the way in featuring the work of the best nature and landscape photographers, and with this highly publicized annual competition they look to honour those who go beyond the normal limits in creating striking outdoor imagery. The photography competition, which was free to enter, showcases the very best outdoor images from around the globe, from both amateur and professional photographers. This year, the competition has been even bigger, with bigger prizes, a new category, and with the winning images being featured in an exhibition and awards ceremony at theprintspace, as well as in a brand new book. There were over £10,000 worth of great prizes awarded to the winners. With categories covering everything from landscapes to wildlife to travel, adventure and environmental issues, the competition looks to reveal the very best of British and overseas photographic talent in the natural world. The winning images chosen this year are by Mark Sisson, Bertie Gregory, Helen Jones, Chris Robbins, Mark Bauer, Steve Ellaway, George Sanker, Pierpaolo Mittica, David Mould, George Karbus, Patrick Kearns, and Joyce van Dijk. The exhibition will run from Friday 13th January until Tuesday 31st January 2012, at theprintspace gallery on 74 Kingsland Road. The opening night will be on Thursday 12th of January from 7pm-9.30pm and refreshments will be provided. Admission is free!
