About

Our aspiration is to be free to create a non commercially-driven, artistic reflective interpretation of contemporary issues such as housing, the environment, mental health, gender and capitalism's crisis.

Ouroboros is a collaboration between over 30 artists - 5 days of exhibition, 2 days of performance and workshops.

WE ARE CREATORS. NOT SELLOUTS.

There are barely any exhibitions or events happening in the UK where groups of artists like us would be provided access to a gallery space because although we shout loud, we don't sell.

We don't carry meaningless concepts about non existent abstract problems. Our work is a direct mirror which is pointed at every single being - not just gallerists and crowds educated in art.

OUROBOROS is our platform for presenting our ideas to a wider public, to inspire others to become political, to talk about social problems, to share a view of the world in our way - not driven by cash, but by passion.

OUROBOROS is entirely run by a volunteer collective that aspires to create multicultural harmony and empower dialogue for social and personal transformation through the arts.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The artists and audiences will be from a broad-spectrum of excluded groups (LGBT, homeless, disabled) with the aim creating a diverse and cohesive mixture - an experience many have never had. The event will be framed by a number of opportunities for dialogue - through workshop, Q&A and interactive experiences. The intention is to create a memorable and powerful experience through art, performance and interaction to challenge preconceptions about the socially excluded and found our shared humanity.

The artworks and performances are heavily geared towards a commentary on social as well as personal issues, and through our activities we hope to highlight the connection between the two, and further empower people to feel able to create the personal and world vision they desire

All workshops and performances and designed for broad accessibility and attended by our crew of CREATIVE COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT WORKERS ... helping us all to get involved and participate fully whatever our different abilities ..

BSL supported!
