About
Oscillations is a collaboration between Russell Duke [sound] and Mark Long [photography]. The artists use methods of digital and analogue enquiry to suspend and reconfigure the perception of our sonic and visual sensations. Through a combined practical and theoretical approach, they interrogate their modes of understanding and artistic workflows to create a space for these entities to entwine.
The work aims to uncover the complexities and reverberating implications of working with both digital and analogue tools and how these conflate between the mediums of photography and sound design. A combination of work is presented that demonstrates the juxtaposition of interpretations and offers the viewer and listener the opportunity to reflect on sensations of intensity, displacement, stasis and flux that can be represented through visual and sonic art.
