About
This will be the first major Japanese retrospective exhibition of one of Brazil's leading architects, Oscar Niemeyer (1907-2012). In addition to winning numerous architectural awards for his unique buildings that harmonize organic curves with modernism's geometric forms, he was also responsible for creating many of the major buildings in the country's capital, Brasilia, which has been registered as a World heritage site, a brilliant, historical achievement. In advance of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, this exhibition will look back over the work of this master architect who was born in that city, introducing an overview of his entire career through plans, models, photographs and video.
