A charming installation recreating the quiet contemplative spaces of the orchard in the British imagination.
Over the past twenty years hundreds of orchards, which were once the focal point of community life, have been grubbed up and lost to the local people. As well as growing fruit, an orchard is home to a host of plants and wildlife well as memory, emotion.
Edwina Bridgeman is re-creating the experience of being in one of these contemplative spaces, but distilled through her own vision and experience, she is also calling on the stories and experiences of others to make her work.
