To celebrate the launch of their new website, Or Type will exhibit a selection of work in Unit Editions’ new gallery space. This marks the first exhibition at the Unit Gallery, which is dedicated to presenting the work of international designers past and present.
About
Through a spontaneous process of drawing, Or Type creates bold alphabets with a unique style. The new website is a collaboration with designer and developer Owen Hoskins.
Or Type is a type foundry based in Reykjavik and in London. It started in 2013 to publish typefaces designed by GUNMAD (Guðmundur Úlfarsson & Mads Freund Brunse). These typefaces are fresh and full of character, and have been used in New York Times Magazine, The Wire and in the identity for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
Unit Editions is an independent publishing venture producing high-quality books on graphic design and visual culture. This collaboration with Or Type inaugurates a new series of exhibitions held in a dedicated space in the Unit Editions studio.
