JOIN US FOR THE LAUNCH OF 650mAh WITH A SOLO SHOW BY JACK LAVENDER, ENTITLED "SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN".

About

“time goes by ... thx for the rythm”

This is a starting point and an endpoint. The open road in a closed garage, cruising through the Grand Senora Desert in a smoky bedroom.

For its first exhibition, 650mAh presents Sorry I haven’t been , a solo show by Jack Lavender. Sorry I haven’t been will feature a site-specific installation of objects & images created by Lavender alongside a soundtrack by audio collaborator Dul Fin Wah!

A memory vehicle,
a drawing from a journey started in 1998 and finished in 2017, the sound of going somewhere without needing a destination.

Jack Lavender (b. 1983, Canterbury, UK) lives and works in Margate, UK. He studied for his MA in Sculpture at RCA, London and BA at UCA, Canterbury. Solo exhibitions include Baggy to Bootcut at The Approach, London (2017), When We Look Outwards in Space We Look Backwards in Time at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2015) and Jack Lavender at Mihai Nicodim, Los Angeles (2014).

650mAh is a project space founded by Tabitha Steinberg and Ella Fleck.

Located inside Mist Vape Shop in Hove, 650mAh challenges traditional gallery models by settling itself within a pre-existing business.

650mAh programs artists from a range of points in their career whose work is critical, engaged & experimental. We aim to show contemporary voices and new perspectives.

The space is due to open for the first time 20 January 2018.
