Floating Projects’ newest online video-zine D-Normal/V-Essay (Dn/Ve) now calls for submission.


β€œIn days of isolation, sharing thoughts is therapeutic.”

Floating Projects’ newest video-zine project D-Normal/V-Essay (Dn/Ve) will issue quarterly video-zines. As kick-off experiments, the first three issues will be uploaded on-line from Dec 2020 to Jun 2021, publishing outstanding submissions from our 3 rounds of open call video-essay competitions. Each video zine issue will be augmented by selections from Floating Projects’ media archive.

D-Normal/V-Essay (Dn/Ve) Open Call Round 1 (2020Fall) has already begun! Without admission fees and suitable for all, apply now and share your thoughts! The best video essay will be awarded for $2000HKD and exhibited in D-Normal/V-Essay online video zine.

Dn/Ve seeks to augment the virtual world as a platform with rich potentials and distinct affordances, subsequently to facilitate the exchange of beliefs, art-making, communication, the generation of new spaces of articulation, and the cultivation of new modes of expressions.Through stretching the idea of a video essay, this on-line video zine+gallery gathers work submitters and visitors to form an accommodative community that innovates artistic and communicative vocabularies.
