Open Studios Weekend - Blackhorse Lane Studios

About

Having enjoyed meeting a record breaking 700+ visitors last year as well as unprecedented sales at their popular Silent Auction, the artists at Blackhorse Lane in Walthamstow are looking forward to welcoming you again to their Open Studios Weekend this year. Art enthusiasts and anyone curious will get the chance to meet and chat to the artists in their work environments. Blackhorse Lane Studios with its distinct twin peak roof has quickly become an established landmark in Walthamstow's vibrant art scene and like last year, the Open Studios will be part of the hugely popular and ever expanding E17 Art Trail which received growing critical acclaim over the last years for its inclusiveness, diversity and artistic and social ambition. Participating artists: Franki Austin, Francesco de Manincor, Jonet Harley-Peters, Charlotte Hodes, Lucile Montague, William Stok, Valerie Large, Tam Joseph, Elizabeth de Monchaux, Jonathan O'Dea, Michelle Reader, Mike Thorn, Neil Irons, Lisa Peachey, Katrin Mäurich, Julie Caves, Sandie M Sutton, Pauline Evans, Duncan Evans, Daniela Rizzi, Charlotte Gerrard, Gisli Bergmann, Helen Maurer, Matilda Bevan, Jean-Pierre Mas. The artists working at BHL have a long history of collective achievement in education, exhibitions and prestigious art prizes. This is a rare opportunity to see their work in progress and speak to them about their motivation, ambition and meaning behind their work. Children are welcome too — there will be an arts quiz and drawing wall so the next generation of talent can show off their skills! Pop in, linger, buy, enjoy; be inspired and perhaps challenged at this friendly, relaxed event. The Open Studios Private view is on the 7th September from 6 to 9pm, and the studios remain open on 8-9th September 12 to 6pm.
