Kingsgate Workshops turns 40 this year with a special edition of our annual Open Studios Weekend

Back in 1978 in West Hampstead, a group of artists and small businesses gathered to take over and develop a derelict warehouse - and four decades later, we're still here!

A lot has changed since the late 70s of course - Kingsgate Workshops has evolved into a thriving arts community housing over 75 artists, craftspeople, makers and designers. Alongside a packed programme of contemporary exhibitions in the Project Space, Kingsgate has supported generations of emerging artists with artist residencies.

And now we want to invite you to celebrate it all with a big, 1978-themed party!

As well as the rare chance to see inside the studios behind the mysterious, imposing Victorian facade and buy unique luxury craft and artworks from our studio holders, this year visitors can get involved with a creative programme including:

£10 Taster Workshops:

Try out a new creative skill in these sessions led by talented artist educators for less than the price of a fancy takeaway.

No need to worry about committing to a term of classes, visitors can just turn up and have a go:

Drawing With Clay - 3pm Saturday
Dry Point Etching - 3pm Sunday
Throwing Ceramics  - 2pm Saturday
Musical Instrument Making for Families - 1pm Sunday
