New creative platform opens up to all genre/disciplinary art form
About
OPEN SITE is a program to accept multangular activities in creative field that is to be a new platform for future art and a venue for creators from all genres to interact. In its second year, we will introduce varieties of 7 projects, all of which are unique and challenging to be realized at Tokyo Arts and Space, as well as one recommendation program.
In the period of Part 2, 2 exhibitions organized by a Japanese sculptor KURODA Daisuke and a video game artist IP Yuk-Yiu from Hong Kong, plus a performance by Marginal Consort , will be shown.
We hope to bring our exciting program of OPEN SITE to both participants and audience by providing open and expressive site for creativity.

1. KURODA Daisuke | The Absent History of Sculpture
By contrasting the philosophy of HSHIMOTO Heihachi’s work with contemporary artworks it inspired,this exhibition presents a margin between HASHIMOTO and KURODA in which becomes “An Absent History of Sculpture”.

2. IP Yuk-Yiu| PLAY.GROUND: video game art from Hong Kong
A creative showcase of recent video game art produced by four Hong Kong artists, exploring video game as an object and medium for critical inquiry, tactical intervention and personal expression.

1. Marginal Consort * OPEN SITE 2017-2018 Recommendation program
The individual sound from independent soloists encounters at the open site and makes ephemeral but enriched sound site. During 3 hours performance, audience can walk around the space in free.
