Join the Friends of Kettle’s Yard for a unique chance to hear the architect behind the recent transformation of Kettle’s Yard talk about his remarkable portfolio of projects in the arts sphere.
Jamie Fobert and his team have won praise for their innovative approach to creating and adapting art spaces for a twenty-first century audience. Jamie will discuss where Kettle’s Yard stands within his portfolio of projects for major galleries including Tate St Ives, a contemporary art gallery in Moscow and his current transformation of London’s National Portrait Gallery.
When designing for these very different contexts, Jamie’s aim remains the same: to anticipate current art practice, including digital art, and to create flexible spaces that allow each curatorial team maximum freedom. In 2019, Jamie Fobert Architects won the Building Design Architect of the Year Gold Award, in recognition of their outstanding work on public buildings.
Jamie will give an illustrated 45 minute talk and there will then be time for audience questions.
