About

Julie Sullock, Jane Embleton, Fiona McMillan and Jane Ballard will be exhibiting their work at Morley Gallery from Monday 17th November until Saturday 22nd November. These four artists use a range of media including fresco, painting and print. Their subject matter includes, cityscape, landscape, abstract and figurative work. Julie Sullock, Fiona McMillan and Jane Embleton studied Fine Art Painting at St. Martin's School of Art. Fiona McMillan completed an M.A. in Fine Art Painting at the Royal Academy Schools. Julie Sullock and Jane Ballard studied M.A. Printmaking at Brighton Polytechnic. Julie Sullock's work is influenced by cityscape and landscape with a strong sense of colour and mood. Last year she completed the Juliet Gomperts Painting Award in Tuscany. Julie has been a member of Southbank Printmakers in Gabriel's Wharf since 2000. Fiona McMillan's landscape displays a sense of rhythm, movement and light. She often paints on location to bring a sense of place to her work. Fiona lives in and works in Buckinghamshire travelling to Wales and Cornwall to paint. Jane Embleton lives and works in Somerset. She explores raw pigments in the form of fresco and egg tempera to evoke a sense of time and place. Jane also works in oil and watercolours. Jane Ballard lives and works in London; her work captures the visual power of it's skyline as viewed when moving through the city, creating a strong and visceral composition.
