Maddox Gallery are proud to partner with Tom Hingston and Teenage Cancer Trust to present ONE OF A KIND, a landmark exhibition and auction of artworks created by some of the most important musicians, artists and designers working today.

About

2020 would have been the 20th Anniversary of Teenage Cancer Trust's annual shows at The Royal Albert Hall - one year on, this collection of 21 one of a kind works celebrates the charity’s ongoing connections with music.

Thanks to the generous support of London’s Maddox Gallery, the screen-printed pieces, commissioned especially by Hingston, will go on display at their Westbourne Grove space from Friday 23rd to Saturday 31st July 2021, during which time they will also be open for bidding online at www.givergy.uk/oneofakindshow

The creative collaboration sees both Hingston Studio and Maddox Gallery partner for the second time with Teenage Cancer Trust in their mission to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

Amongst the artists who have produced and donated works for the exhibition are Matty Bovan, Anthony Burrill, Nick Cave, DINES®(Studio Blup), David Shrigley, Liam Hodges, Kai & Sunny, James Joyce, James Lavelle and Ill-Studio / Soulwax.

Celebrating partnerships between influential musicians and creatives, the exhibition also showcases works that have been realised in collaboration between artists, that in many cases have formed long working relationships. These include:

♦    Chrissie Abbott & Kae Tempest

♦    Jason Evans & Thom Yorke

♦    Jehnny Beth & Johnny Hostile

♦    Julian Broad & Paul Weller

♦    Kevin Cummins & Scott King

♦    Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton Jones & Björk

♦    Mark Mattock & Stormzy

♦    Ryca & Fatboy Slim

♦    Smith & Lyall & The Chemical Brothers

♦    Kam Tang & Young Fathers

♦    Simon Taylor & Underworld

With Teenage Cancer Trust’s annual Royal Albert Hall shows having been cancelled due to the pandemic, the exhibition pays tribute to the memorable event and its musical roots.

“We are delighted to be part of this campaign to support Teenage Cancer Trust. The world pandemic has had an impact on everyone but if we have learnt anything from this year it’s that there is power in communities and the need to support each other.” Jehnny Beth

“It’s an honour to work with Tom Hingston and be amongst such great artists to support such a worthy cause, to help inspire and support these amazing kids through such difficult times.” James Lavelle

ONE OF A KIND, is an initiative from Tom Hingston, designer, art director and founder of Hingston Studio. Hingston is renowned for his creative collaborations with some of the world’s most celebrated musicians, and over the past twenty years has created album covers for the Rolling Stones, Massive Attack, Grace Jones, David Bowie, Nick Cave and the Chemical Brothers, amongst many others.

“The idea for the show was to mark 20 years of the charity’s shows at the Royal Albert Hall and their connection to music – something that is very close to our hearts. We are proud to have been able to realise this project, in spite of everything this year, with some truly exceptional talent and great friends of the studio. We hope you enjoy looking at the work and feel inspired to play a part in raising funds for this incredibly important organisation.”
