On the Threshold of a Dream

About

On the Threshold of a Dream, the second exhibition in the Turner Contemporary Project Space features work by Zoë Walker and Neil Bromwich. Working together since 1999, Walker and Bromwich's performances, sculptures and videos often encourage the participation of the audience and are both playful and utopian in their exploration of art's ability to overcome boundaries. The artists have a fascination with ‘in between' states and places, the zones between fact and fiction, dreams and reality, land and sea. On the Threshold of a Dream is comprised of two parts: an exhibition in the Turner Contemporary Project Space and an off-site touring project, Celestial Radio, which during the course of the exhibition will visit the harbours of Whitstable, Margate and Folkestone. Celestial Radio is Walker and Bromwich's ambitious land/sea extension of their fascination with porous barriers. The Celeste is a crystal ship, its surface coated in sixty thousand mirror tiles, and Celestial Radio is broadcast from on board while it sits in each harbour on its tour. Celestial Radio Tour Schedule: During the following dates and times, Celestial Radio will be broadcasting on 87.7FM Whitstable Harbour (during the Whitstable Biennale) Saturday 21 June, 1—10pm Sunday 22 June, 11am—7pm Margate Harbour Saturday 5 July, 1—10pm Join us on Margate Harbour Arm from 1pm to welcome The Celeste Sunday 6 — Tuesday 8 July, 11am—7pm Folkestone Harbour (during the Folkestone Triennial) Saturday 19 July, 1—10pm Sunday 20 July, 11am—7pm
