About
Presentation and discussion on dispossession with Dr Brenna Bhandar Senior Lecturer in Law at SOAS.
Screening of High Hopes - a documentary film on the dispossession of the Jahalin Bedouin by Oscar Award nominee and International Emmy Award Winner Guy Davidi, produced by Angela Godfrey-Goldstein with music by Pink Floyd.
Speaker: Dr Brenna Bhandar is Senior Lecturer in Law at SOAS. Her research considers the relationship between racial formations and modern property law in settler colonial contexts. She brings critical theory, archival sources and feminist/gender analysis to her writing on dispossession, including on Palestine.
Moderator: Dr Annie Pfingst brings an interdisciplinary visual, archival and discursive practice to her apprehension of Palestine. Her photographic works in the exhibition On Palestine form part of an ongoing inquiry into the materiality and spatiality of emergency landscapes and geographies of resistance.
