City Lit Advanced Painting: End of Year 1 Exhibition
About
A series of artist-led intensive workshops are the initial focus of the study-year, introducing a diverse range of painting concepts and approaches that extend developmental possibilities for all learners. Over the course of the year the conversation shifts towards a personal project proposal or sustained enquiry.
Incomplete or unresolved ideas and experiments are recognized and valued: a tool to move tutorial conversations forward. In the final term, exhibition preparation involves challenges of production and painting completion. Selecting works and discussing choices involves a different type of consideration: painters move between immersive looking and being an on-looker.
