About
In the autumn of 2018, the Palais de Tokyo invites the artist Tomás Saraceno to take possession of all of his exhibition spaces for the fourth edition of the "carte blanche" series - these monumental and extraordinary exhibitions entrusted to to artists, initiated by Philippe Parreno in 2013, continued by Tino Sehgal in 2016, and Camille Henrot in 2017.
Largest project ever made by Tomás Saraceno, whose research is developing at the crossroads of arts, science and architecture, the carte blanche brings together a selection of his major works as well as ambitious new productions that transform the Palais from Tokyo into a unique sensory space.
Combining the smallest and largest scales, the exhibition will seek to unravel the links between a dust particle, cobwebs, architectures of cloud cities and the redistribution of the atmosphere through the Aerocene, a project that proposes a collective rethinking of the way in which the human species inhabits the world.
By bringing together many actors on the occasion of his carte blanche - researchers, activists, scientific institutes, local communities, musicians, philosophers, animals, celestial phenomena and visitors, Tomás Saraceno invites to participate in an exhibition that he imagines as a « cosmic jam session ".
