Olivia Swinscoe’s work explores the relationship between people and places and reflects how communities sustain themselves

About

Olivia Swinscoe NWA

Olivia Swinscoe’s work explores the relationship between people and places and reflects how communities sustain themselves. On a recent a trip to Myanmar, she captured the practice of women who weave silken thread from bamboo. The weavers use the silk to produce intricately patterned scarves which they sell for a living. Over millenia, the weaver’s complex patterns have become emblems for the mystery of existence.
