Join Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary recipient Oliver MacDonald at Turner Contemporary, Margate for his one-off performance "Underwater Basket Weaving" on 22 April.
Traditionally trained as a willow weaver, Oliver is spending his three-month residency exploring willow weaving and its materials through a conceptual lens, creating large-scale, performative objects and installations on-site. Join Oliver for a two-hour durational, multisensory willow weaving performance inside a mock diving bell, where you will be able to watch Oliver at work through the diving bell’s porthole, touch the bell and feel its vibrations, and hear the echoes resounding within it.
This is a free, drop-in event, taking place in Turner Contemporary's Clore Learning Studio; no booking is required.
Clore Learning Studio is wheelchair accessible. Gallery invigilators and Shape staff will be on hand to provide live Audio Description for blind and visually impaired audiences.
