This is an opportunity to see 25 of Raphaele Cohen-Bacry's large canvases and to follow the artist's evolution while walking through the vast two wings of the building. The paintings are shown as tapestries, "off the stretchers'. In some displays, recent collages by the artist are also exhibited.

About

Raphaele Cohen-Bacry, a LA painter originally from Paris, France, presents over 25 of her large canvases. They are displayed like tapestries, off the stretchers. The artist has been working on large formats for many years, revisiting and channeling the French movement of "Lyrical Abstraction". Her paintings are indeed uplifting and they appeal to feelings. Each painting was developed layer after layer and is built on strong foundations. Even though these were made over a decade, they belong to the same ever evolving series. Some were made after  the movie "Full Metal Jacket" and it will be interesting to see if you can guess which ones they are. This is an opportunity for the viewer to see them all next to each other and to follow the artist's evolution while walking through the vast two wings of the building. In some of the displays, recent collages by the artist will also be exhibited.
