About

Julie Caves and Daniela Rizzi are two painters who are definitely interested in colour. The first purpose of the shapes in these paintings is merely to serve as form for the colour. They both tend to work on large canvases but in the 'Of All the Possibilities' exhibition they are showing more domestic-sized work.

Julie Caves is a painter. She began her art studies in California, studied art in Spain, received a BFA (Hons) from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA from Camberwell College of Arts in London and will begin the Turps Banana Painting Year in 2017.  She exhibits regularly and has participated in exhibitions in the US, Spain, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Norway and the UK. She has artists' books and prints in a number of public collections including the Tate Britain Gallery Special Collection. She lives and works in East London and Margate.

Daniela Rizzi's practice includes painting, printmaking, photography, drawing and mixed media. She studied at Middlesex University where she obtained a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Daniela also graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a Masters Degree in Printmaking. Daniela exhibits regularly and has work held in the Victoria and Albert Museum and private collections. She is a member of the Printmakers Council, East London Printmakers and a studio member of the Barbican Arts Group Trust. She has won the Michael Rothenstein Trophy and the London Print Studio Prize. She has been teaching for twenty years and is a lecturer at Kensington and Chelsea College.
