Now That You’re Here features five local artists: Mark Walter, Flora Storm, Joe Murphy, Jude Montague & Wolfgang Dubieniec, bringing together an eclectic mix of styles processes and mediums that explore the tactile, surfaces, interior, experimental and substances of life.

Flora Storm's work draws on life moments of interaction and emotion transforming feelings into tactile presence through fantasy. She makes visible the unsaid and expresses the vulnerability of where dream and subconscious meet external encounters. Her work echoes the experimental illustrators of fairy tales such as Arthur Rackham and Aubrey Beardsley and suggests a pre-Raphaelite sketchbook.

Mark Walter is an abstract painter & sculptor. His practice features the application, and removal, of many layers of paint, reworking with the surface, and the subsurface until the piece naturally reaches closure. In contrast, he also creates through bold gestural drawing, printing, moving quickly with acrylic paint, spray, ink, and biro.

Joe Murphy's background in interior and spatial design leads his visual premise between a mixture of man-made and natural materials. Working in monochrome and unusual print media this series is based on his personal recent experiences.

Jude Montague is from Montague Armstrong on Kings Road, St Leonards-on-Sea. She is an award-winning printmaker who works with experimental etchings and monoprints. She worked at Reuters on international news images for many years and her works are informed by film history and inspired by personal visions.

Wolfgang Dubieniec is a graphic artist who also is a composer and filmmaker. He works with unusual hand-formed substances and his works include prints from oak gall ink and sculptural jewellery shaped from shipwrecked tin and garnet foraged from the Thames.
