Visual Arts at Siobhan Davies Studios

About

As part of Siobhan Davies' ongoing commitment to aligning dance with other contemporary arts, Siobhan Davies Studios presents a regular programme of visual art exhibitions. This month they present Notes for a future work, a new show by 60|40, an independent artists collective, founded by Clare Twomey, David Clarke and Tracey Rowledge. Each of the artists is trained in a defined discipline within the applied arts: ceramics, silversmithing and bookbinding; each works on the outer boundaries of their discipline. In this exhibition they aim to expand the environment for experimental applied arts and create the first of what will be an annual exhibition (the Starting Point Series). Inspired by the creative movement that takes place in the dance studios the artists explore how movement can be held and communicated through objects.
