About

Over 75,000 households in the UK live in unsupported temporary accommodation; insecure and often dangerous, this housing has a drastic impact on residents’ health and wellbeing.

Not Home is a collaboration between writer Sarah Butler, the charity Justlife, and the photographer, Stephen King.  The exhibition includes a collection of portraits made with people living in unsupported temporary accommodation in Manchester, along with first hand accounts of their experiences.

You can also explore a new novella Not Home, The Truth Told By Tenants, written by Sarah Butler in conversation with residents, following the lives of six people living in a rundown Manchester bed & breakfast.  The book is available to download from Justlife’s website.

Suitable for 11+
