About

Roots Gallery invites you to: Nostalgia for the Future (Past) A Photographic Exhibition by Jo Gane and Caroline James 18/03/2013 - 14/04/2013 Award winning artist Jo Gane has received national support from the Arts Council Grants for the Arts Scheme and Coventry City Council's Small Arts Grant Scheme to produce a new exhibition at Roots Gallery. Gane was the winner of Roots Gallery's ‘Panel Choice' award during the debut open exhibition in July, and as a result she has produced the new exhibition, ‘Nostalgia for the Future (Past)', which will open in March 2013, showing photographic work by artists Jo Gane and Caroline James. The exhibition explores the legacy of post war modernist architecture within the city of Coventry in both public and private spaces, through abstract images by Caroline James of the former sculpture garden space behind the gallery and work by Jo Gane exploring a collection which the artist has found in a modernist house just outside the city. ‘Nostagia for the Future (Past)' will open to the public on Monday 18 March 2013, with a formal opening party on Thursday 21st March 2013 from 6pm-8pm. The exhibition will then be open until Sunday 14th April 2013 at 10am — 5pm Tuesdays to Fridays.
