The Nomadic Gardens Winter Festival Exhibition: celebrating the Nomadic Gardens with 8 artists who have responded to the unique space.
About
Queen’s Park Nomadic Garden is a DIY social space built amongst the urban sprawl of North West London. It is frequented by locals and their children who have formed a small, friendly community that helps maintain the garden, participate in arts activities, or simply hang out. Organised by Daniel Rockman and Rishil Parekh, it’s run by anyone who can contribute a skill, be it building, gardening, cooking, or anything else. Many artists have contributed murals to the garden walls, and held inclusive workshops in the space. We’d love to see the Nomadic Garden continue to grow into a thriving and active creative community, and a seasonal event like a winter festival could be just what the Garden needs to open it up to residents.
We’ve asked a range of different practitioners to exhibit who have all come up with amazing ideas ranging from installations and interactive pieces, to work which explores decaying and weathering, repurposing materials, and Christmas. Therefore we are excited to present work by the following artists:
Vanessa Bizzarri
Alex Aitken
Florence Goodhand-Tait
Josh Philpott
Sinéid Codd
Honor Ash
Melloney Harvey
Alice Wickens
We’d like to dedicate this exhibition to Paulo Sousa, a dear friend and wonderful artist who was to contribute his work to the show, but very sadly and unexpectedly passed away. He is sorely missed and fondly remembered.
