About

The second event of our new bi-monthly performance series, feat. readings from Carl Gent, Linda Stupart & Sarah Bernstein. No Matter is pleased to announce that artists Carl Gent & Linda Stupart will showcase a brand new artistic collaboration during this event.

*Sarah Bernstein*
is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities, Edinburgh. Her writing has appeared in places like Adjacent Pineapple, tender, Contemporary Women's Writing and Lemon Hound. Her first book, Now Comes the Lightning, was published in Canada by Pedlar Press in 2015. She has just finished a manuscript for a novel, The Coming Bad Days. 

*Linda Stupart*
is an artist, writer, and educator from Cape Town, South Africa. Their current work consists of writing, performance, curation, sculpture, drawing, and installation and engages with queer theory, science fiction, environmental crises, magic, language, desire, and revenge. They had a solo show at Arcadia Missa in March 2016, where they launched their debut novella, Virus. Their work has recently been performed at Matt’s Gallery, Tate, The Showroom, a.m. gallery and the ICA. In 2017 they curated DEEP ANGER TRUE LOVE TENDER CARE at The Horse Hospital. Stupart currently works with Tate Schools and Teachers on an in-schools resource using art to talk about gender.

*Carl Gent*
is an artist, writer, and musician from Bexhill-on-sea, UK. They work in sculpture, installation, print and performance, using an ecological and ecofeminist approach to making, thinking and being in the world. Recent and forthcoming exhibitions include Young London 2018, V22 Silvertown; Smear (for Cynethryth), Bexhill Carnival / De La Warr Pavilion; Technically Illiterate, Actually Still Pagan ( 1 + 2 ), V22 Ilderton Road Project Space; Our House of Common Weeds. They also perform as a part of amplified sitar and drum duo Perple Celotape and co-run the blog Fashion Vacuum.
