Nigel Massey b. 1969 in Stoke-on-Trent, trained in painting at the Royal Academy Schools.
Massey now combines influences from working with trades such as weaving, frame restoration, shop fitting and furniture making, with other more casual and opportunistic means of gathering material. Through this he proposes and develops ideas through the acts of making, with sometimes impudent acts of assembly and manufacture featuring in these stoic, solitary objects.
Nigel Massey lives and works in south London.
