About
Nicola Mountney Art
For the first time at the Hepsibah Gallery, Nicola presents a selection of paintings demonstrating her unique style of creating a fusion of East and West in terms of subject matter and technique. Nicola studied Tibetan Buddhist Thangka painting, and went on to develop her own style with a strong emphasis on precision, colour and detail. Her medium is gouache.
Nicola lives in the heart of Tuscany where she has a large Medieval house in the Appenine mountains that she offers for courses and holidays.
She has had solo exhibitions in the UK and Italy and has collectors in Europe, Asia and the USA.
'When I paint, I'm not striving to present something that I have seen, rather, what I have thought. My paintings are not an open window for the viewer's eye, but the viewer's mind.'
