An Exhibition of Exploration, Discovery and the Spirit of the Pioneer
Nick Morley's World of Wonder
Nick Morley brings his discerning eye and unique humour to the world of discovery, exploration and adventure. The exhibition draws inspiration from dusty museums, science textbooks, National Geographic and the pioneer spirit of the likes of Jacques Cousteau & Ernest Shackleton.
To coincide with this exhibition, Nick will be running a Linocut Printing workshop at the space on Sunday 17th April in which participants will be given the opportunity to produce a series of linocuts to illustrate a story, poem or other narrative and, in this case, the working theme will be Alternative Royal Wedding Souvenir. Certainly not one to be missed, places will be limited so book in quick.
As an illustrator Nick has worked for The Times and Icon magazine and has produced book covers for Penguin, Faber & Faber and Folio Society. His fascination with old imagery in books and magazines has influenced his own practice which is grounded in drawing and encompasses prints, text works, drawings and artist books.
Exhibition from 16th April - 13th May 2011, Material Gallery, Ludlow SY8 2PG
Private view 15th April 2011, 6 till 8pm
