As a painter my work comes out of a desire to question what is possible to achieve in the picture plane. The ideas are triggered by physical phenomena and can be from anything I see around me. My own drawings, photographs and other bits of visual information give me a starting point. These initial marks, brushstrokes or large areas of flat colour are applied quickly. My work space eventually becomes chaotic, allowing for chance and for paint to reveal how it has been manipulated onto the surface. This opens up possibilities to proceed further.
