New Horizons - a course celebrating an approach to ceramics through observation and nature .

About

New Horizons Ceramics Course with Eddie Curtis at Cerdeira Home For Creativity. An approach to contemporary ceramics and wood-firing at Sasukenei - Smokeless Kiln.

The course fee includes:

  • Integration in small working groups (4 to 6 people);
  • Training 6 - 8 hours/day with technical assistant, spoken in English and Portuguese;
  • Studio open 12 hours a day;
  • All materials;
  • Shared room accommodation in our Residences (shared house with equipped kitchen, changing room, washing machine and Wifi) or 10% discount for individual accommodation with a minimum of 2 nights;
  • Welcome dinner.

Eddie Curtis, After his training in ceramics at the Bath Academy of Arts, Eddie Curtis opened his studio in 1979 in Middle Rigg (OK), devoting himself mainly to the production of utilitarian ware. Soon after he began to develop his artistic work, exploring shapes and textures and colors of glazes. Today he is known worldwide for his expressive and unique pieces and has exhibitions from Europe to Japan. His work has also been recognized by several international awards, and we are happy to welcome him to Cerdeira for the first time.
