On the occasion of the publication of Charles Williams’s article 'Never Let Me Go – Still life in the paintings of Tori and Charlie Day', in The Jackdaw magazine, November 2015, Never Let Me Go is an exhibition of still life paintings by Charles Williams (New English Art Club, author of Basic Drawing, Hale: 2011 and Basic Watercolour, Hale: 2014), and wife-and-husband team Tori and Charlie Day (managers of Studio One Gallery).
Their paintings are elegies; they are searching in the rubble of a tradition for something, anything; they bring out small trophies, souvenirs, scraps of songs, hold them up. This? Or this?
